AI literacy must be a part of our K-16 educational system to ensure students are future-ready.
The integration of generative AI in the way we learn, work, and live is inevitable. To set individuals and our society as a whole up for success and abundance in the future, we must prioritize building AI literacy. AI literacy is the knowledge, skills, mindsets, and dispositions to 1) understand what generative AI is and its limitations and capabilities and 2) how to use it safely, ethically, and effectively. The session will cover a few high-level strategies for building AI literacy for oneself and for advocating for AI literacy in schools.
