Role Overview
TechEquity Ai is seeking a skilled Strategist — Fundraising to play a key role in securing funding that supports our mission. This position requires a strong writer and researcher who can craft compelling proposals, manage reporting, and cultivate relationships with institutional funders. The strategist will work closely with the fundraising team to identify funding opportunities, maintain grant records, and ensure timely submissions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and passionate about using technology for social good. The grant writer will have access to our custom AI tool to support and enhance their writing process.
This role is structured for at least 25 hours per week for a minimum of four months, with the option to extend.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for individuals who excel in dynamic environments. While a volunteer position, it upholds the high standards of Silicon Valley’s tech and nonprofit sector. We seek independent, resourceful problem-solvers with relevant experience who are ready to apply their knowledge and take on multiple responsibilities to support the team. Success in this role requires adaptability, initiative, independence and a willingness to step in where needed. This opportunity is not structured as a training program; it is an opportunity to engage in high-impact work, gain real-world exposure in a results-driven AI and technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Grants Management: Research and identify prospective funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government entities. Write, edit, and submit persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports. Maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
- Communications: Develop clear and compelling narratives that effectively communicate TechEquity Ai’s impact, priorities, and funding needs. Ensure consistency in messaging across grant proposals and donor communications. Draft stewardship materials such as acknowledgment letters, funder updates, and impact reports to strengthen relationships with grantmakers.
- Development Operations: Maintain organized records in the CRM system (e.g., Asana), ensuring accurate tracking of grants, deadlines, and reporting schedules. Analyze grant performance to identify trends and optimize future submissions. Support process improvements to streamline grant development and reporting workflows.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or development.
- Proven ability to write successful grant proposals and secure funding from institutional funders.
- Strong research, writing, and storytelling skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and grant tracking tools preferred.
- Knowledge of AI, technology, or nonprofit sectors is a plus.

- Experience conducting prospect research and donor cultivation.
- Ability to synthesize programmatic data and impact metrics into persuasive narratives.
