BuildAI

As we advance AI innovation, we must confront empathy and ethics as core design challenges, especially in conversational systems.

Vibhu will explore the future of ethical AI and the AI empathy gap. He will dive into the challenges of open source models and the evolving role of conversational AI.

Vibhu is excited to speak at the TechEquity AI Summit, where he’ll dive into the future of ethical AI, the AI empathy gap, the challenges of open source models, and the evolving role of conversational AI. As CTO of Inflection AI, he is helping make enterprise AI more user-friendly so that companies can actually own the whole thing: models, code, checkpoints, and everything else, including the magic that makes it all run.
Vibhu’s passion for building cutting-edge AI systems spans decades. He worked on early generative AI as a graduate student at USC, then joined Google as one of its early employees. Over nine years, he contributed to foundational technologies in query classification and helped build the first prototypes of Google Scholar and Google Translate.
A recognized thought leader and honored USC alumnus, Vibhu has spoken at the Viterbi School of Engineering Commencement and was awarded the 2025 Mark Stevens Alumni Award. At the Ai Summit, he’ll share insights on how to build AI systems that are transparent, customizable, and scalable, drawing on hard-earned lessons from both startups and big tech to show how we can put real control back in the hands of those who deploy AI.
